A major WA government department, responsible for a wide range of services primarily focused on land, transport and infrastructure management sought Ajilon's services to undertake an in-depth review of its primary application in relation to its business and technology environment.

The department had been using its bespoke application for 2 years to support the ever growing licensing business.  The complexity of licensing combined with its impact on the Western Australian community meant that the system had become a mission critical application for the department.  It is within this context that Ajilon undertook a performance review focusing on the "end-to-end" processes (including technologies) that support the system from development to production.

While actual responsiveness (speed) was initially thought to be of most concern, further discussions subsequently uncovered that performance was perceived by the business community as being more that just application responsiveness.  As such the critical aspect was the total time taken to service a business transaction, particularly when dealing with customers.  The poor perception of the application was subject to the system's overall ability to service a business transaction with ease.
